Network and Security Engineer

We are looking for a motivated Network and Security Engineer to join our Lausanne team and contribute to the design, deployment, and securing of our network infrastructures. You will participate in the evolution of architectures, management of critical incidents, and implementation of processes to ensure the availability, performance, and confidentiality of network services.

Main mission – Design, operation and securing of networks

• Design, deploy and administer network infrastructures (LAN, WAN, SD-WAN, VLAN).

• Ensure supervision, monitoring and optimisation of network performance.

• Implement and maintain network security devices: firewalls, IPS/IDS, VPN, NAC.

• Manage level 2 and 3 network incidents, perform diagnostics, propose and implement remediation plans.

• Participate in defining and applying security policies (segmentation, hardening, access management).

• Conduct audits, penetration tests and configuration reviews in collaboration with the security team.

• Automate network operation tasks (scripting, IaC) and document architectures and procedures.

• Ensure technological and regulatory watch to anticipate changes and propose improvements.

Required technical skills

• Excellent mastery of network protocols and technologies: TCP/IP, BGP, OSPF, MPLS, VLAN, QoS.

• Proven experience with major vendor equipment (Cisco, Juniper, Fortinet, Palo Alto, etc.).

• Good knowledge of security solutions: firewalling, VPN (IPsec, SSL), IDS/IPS, proxies, web filtering.

• Skills in network virtualisation and Cloud Networking (SDN, VPC, Azure/AWS/GCP networking).

• Experience with supervision and observability tools (Nagios, Zabbix, Prometheus, Grafana).

• Scripting for automation (Python, Bash, Ansible, Terraform) and configuration management.

• Knowledge of cybersecurity standards and best practices (ISO27001, GDPR, vulnerability management).

Desired profile

• Higher degree in computer science, networking or security (engineering school, Master’s, equivalent).

• Significant experience in a similar role in a company or IT services firm (SSII/ESN).

• Analytical skills, rigour and organisational sense to manage incidents and projects simultaneously.

• Good interpersonal skills and ability to work in a cross-functional team (infrastructure, security, DevOps).

• Technical English required; network/security certifications (CCNA/CCNP, Fortinet NSE, Palo Alto, CISSP, OSCP) appreciated.
