Primary School Leadership St. Johann

Tasks: As part of the two-person school leadership team, you lead the school within the framework of the directives of the public school management in the educational, organisational, personnel, administrative and financial areas and can count on a committed staff.

Leading the school: You are responsible for the collaboration between teachers and specialists, pupils, parents and the school board, for fulfilling the educational mandate and for the further development of school quality.

Responsibility: You bear responsibility for the operational management of the school, for personnel management and development of the staff, for resource planning and the budget. The school leadership is also responsible for the day-care operation.

Experience: You have professional and leadership experience as well as a teaching qualification for public schools or an equivalent non-school educational qualification, experience in project management and very good knowledge in the education sector.

Personality: A good sense for people, interconnected thinking, communication skills, resilience and a strong drive to shape things characterise you. Intensive work in a committed, cooperative team is natural to you and inspires you.

Education: A school leadership or management qualification or an equivalent non-school educational qualification is desired.

The public schools division of the Department of Education Basel-Stadt covers the entire compulsory school period, from kindergarten through primary school to secondary school. It is responsible for school operations and the school care services outside of teaching hours. The division advocates for an inclusive school where all children are accepted and supported according to their abilities.

The primary level St. Johann includes 6 neighbourhood kindergartens, 12 primary school classes, 1 DaZ learning group as well as a day-care structure and is part of the vibrant educational landscape "St. Johann entdeckt". At the primary level St. Johann, the principle of inclusive schooling is naturally and consistently lived, which is also reflected in its team, participation and leadership structures. Teaching and care go hand in hand as a learning and living space, multiprofessional teams are established and the further development of the school is based on a jointly developed vision for the future.
