As a trained and experienced specialist in handling demanding administrative matters, you take responsibility for the lawful examination of applications for training contributions in German. In standardised processes, you independently and case-specifically review applications, calculate entitlement to scholarships and loans, issue decisions and revise them if necessary. You use both the current scholarship application and the successor solution in parallel.
Your tasks
You independently examine and process applications for training contributions and calculate entitlement to scholarships or training loans based on legal foundations. You obtain all necessary documents, justify your calculation method, issue decisions, check the training status and collect certificates and other evidence. If necessary, you reclaim granted contributions. You advise and support applicants by telephone and correspond with them by email and post. You maintain contact with institutions, especially social services.
Your profile
For this varied and highly responsible role, we are looking for a person with a completed commercial vocational training or an equivalent background for our team of fifteen employees. Several years of professional experience are required for this position. An interest in IT solutions is advantageous. Your workplace is centrally located in Bern. Your working style is very independent, precise and structured. You communicate very fluently both orally and in writing. You are familiar with MS Office products from professional use. You can quickly familiarise yourself with new IT applications and are open to technical innovations. You enjoy working in a team and are a responsible and service-oriented personality. Fluent German, both spoken and written, completes your profile. Training for this position is conducted in German. You process German-language applications. With appropriate language skills, there is also the possibility to process applications in French.

Office for Central Services
The Office for Central Services of the Directorate of Education and Culture (BKD) is responsible as an internal service provider for the correct classification and salary payment to teachers, the awarding of scholarships, IT in the BKD, finance and accounting, reception/telephone centre and the BKD building services.
The Training Contributions Department of the Office for Central Services is responsible for awarding training contributions in the form of scholarships and loans to trainees with scholarship-eligible residence in the Canton of Bern. Approximately 5,000 to 6,000 applications are processed and examined annually.
