Compute, Storage & Backup Solution Engineer (m/f/d)

Complex IT infrastructures require well-considered architectural decisions, sound vendor knowledge, and reliable implementation. In this position, you take a central role in planning and realising modern data centre solutions. You work with various virtualisation platforms, develop robust recovery concepts, and support customers in aligning their infrastructure technically and economically for the future.
Responsibilities:
Compute and Storage: You analyse requirements, size appropriate platforms, and are responsible for their installation and commissioning. You work especially with HPE ProLiant, HPE Synergy, HPE Alletra and HPE MSA
Virtualisation Architectures: You develop customised platform solutions based on VMware vSphere, VMware Cloud Foundation (VCF), HPE Morpheus, VM Essentials and Microsoft Hyper-V
Migrations: You plan and execute the transition between different virtualisation platforms and accompany the technical steps until successful commissioning
Data Backup and Recovery: You design reliable backup and restoration solutions as well as comprehensive disaster recovery scenarios with Veeam and Zerto
Customer Consulting: You support customers in strategic decisions regarding virtualisation, platform selection, and infrastructure investments, considering both technical and economic aspects
Operation of Critical Environments: You manage highly available and regulated customer platforms and perform planned maintenance and migration work outside regular office hours if necessary
Knowledge Development: You share your technical expertise, support internal knowledge transfer, and are a competent contact for demanding infrastructure questions
Solution Portfolio: You collaborate with the sales team to develop new customer solutions and contribute to the continuous development of the existing technology and service offerings
Qualifications:
Completed training or further education in system technology with several years of professional experience or a comparable technical qualification
Extensive practical experience with server and storage hardware, especially in sizing, installation, commissioning, and systematic troubleshooting
In-depth knowledge in building and supporting virtualisation environments (VMware/HyperV)
Ideally experience with an IT service provider and direct customer contact
Practical experience with backup and restore architectures, preferably with Veeam
Very good German skills as well as good English skills
