Chair of the SSR Board of Directors (50%)

In this demanding role, you will lead the Board of Directors and represent SSR in political and economic circles, civil society and the public. In collaboration with the Board of Directors and the Executive Committee, you will define SSR’s strategic development and guide its transformation in a rapidly changing media context.

• Lead the SSR Board of Directors and ensure effective, future-oriented corporate governance
• Drive SSR’s strategic development and ensure the sustainable fulfilment of its public service mandate in the digital age
• Support effective corporate and cultural transformation, as well as the development of "One SSR", taking into account the country’s cultural and linguistic diversity
• Maintain close dialogue with the Director-General, acting as a "sparring partner"
• Represent SSR to authorities, political decision-making bodies and other stakeholders; promote dialogue between the company, the umbrella association, politics and the public
• Strengthen the public service’s roots in all linguistic regions and represent SSR in political, social and media environments

Requirements

• Many years of senior management and governance experience at the highest levels, accompanied by proven experience in strategically supporting complex transformation and change processes
• Excellent knowledge of Swiss political functioning and decision-making processes, as well as a broad network of contacts at the intersection of Swiss society, economy and media
• Strong affinity with technologies and a clear vision of how public media service should position itself in the democratic and social context in the face of the growing dominance of artificial intelligence
• Solid knowledge of modern corporate governance principles and experience managing a complex set of interest groups
• Strong commitment to the public service mandate and its importance for Switzerland
• Excellent communication skills and confidence in dealing with political figures, the media and the public
• Excellent active knowledge of German and French; willingness to acquire knowledge of Italian and fully embrace Switzerland’s multilingualism
