At the Directorate for Education, Social Affairs and Sport, people are at the centre. The School Office is the competence centre for public kindergarten and school education.
What you will achieve
- Responsibility for the strategic, professional, and organisational development of daycare in the city of Bern
- Responsibility for financial and personnel controlling of daycare
- Personnel and professional management of the Daycare Department (10 employees) within the School Office and active participation in the management team
- Advising and supporting daycare managers in financial and organisational matters as well as in personnel and leadership issues
- Preparation of political matters and development of decision-making bases
- Coordination and collaboration in the further development of daycare services for pupils in the city of Bern
What you bring
- Higher education in business administration and/or pedagogical training at tertiary level
- Sound knowledge in financial and personnel controlling as well as an analytical, conceptual, and networked way of thinking
- Several years of leadership and professional experience in the educational or care environment
- Knowledge of cantonal and municipal structures as well as interest and affinity for working in a political environment
- Initiative, cooperative and service-oriented personality with an independent, structured, and solution-oriented working style
- High social and advisory competence and enjoyment in bringing people together and actively shaping change
