Who are we?

The Swiss Federal Institute for Vocational Education and Training EHB is the Swiss centre of expertise for vocational education and training. We train and further educate those responsible for vocational education, research vocational education, develop professions, and support international vocational education cooperation. Our locations are in Zollikofen near Bern (headquarters), Lausanne and Lugano, with external sites in Olten and Zurich.

For the Teaching Division for the Bachelor of Science in Vocational Education programme and for the Research and Development Division for the research field Recognition of Experience and Lifelong Learning in Zollikofen, we are seeking from 1 February 2027 on a fixed-term basis until 31 January 2029 with the possibility of permanent employment a

(Mixed profile teaching and research)

Your area of responsibility

• Teaching:
• Design and delivery of courses primarily in the following subject areas: Quantitative methods in educational research, digitalisation and artificial intelligence in (vocational) education, critical data literacy
• Support of students in blended learning format and self-study as well as in the preparation of academic papers and practice-oriented transfer papers (e.g. observations, internships, projects)
• Participation in the further development of the degree programme
• Courses take place during semester times on Fridays and occasionally on Saturdays
• Research and development:
• Design, acquisition of third-party funding and implementation of research projects in the subject areas of adult education, workplace learning, digitalisation and artificial intelligence in close collaboration with the team
• Writing scientific publications and presenting research results at scientific conferences in German and English
• Knowledge transfer, especially through presentations for professionals from (vocational) education, practice-oriented publications and media contributions
• Professional support of junior researchers in the research field

Your profile

• Experience in educational research with references to digitalisation and digital teaching and learning
• Preferably a doctorate in educational science, psychology or a related discipline
• Knowledge in the areas of vocational and adult education as well as lifelong learning
• Good higher education didactic skills and teaching experience at university level
• Research experience as well as good methodological knowledge of empirical social research
• Good English and French skills
• Enjoy working in multidisciplinary teams
