Social Services
The Social Services ensure through their work in the five social centres that people in the city of Zurich can rely on effective basic social care.
For our Selnau Social Centre, we are looking for a motivated professional as a temporary assistant, limited to 6-12 months, starting immediately or by arrangement.
Tasks
- You support and advise families in financial and social difficulties.
- You work polyvalently: you provide economic social assistance, advise families in difficult situations, and carry out civil child protection mandates. Variety is guaranteed.
- You clarify risks to the child’s welfare on behalf of the Child and Adult Protection Authority.
- You document your work comprehensibly in a case management system.
- You are administratively supported by caseworkers, can draw on the knowledge of internal specialist departments, and work closely with your colleagues in the team.
Profile
- University of Applied Sciences degree in Social Work is mandatory
- Professional experience in providing economic social assistance and/or in child and youth welfare; relevant further training is a plus
- Commercial flair and good knowledge of financial matters
- Enjoy working with people and various family constellations and good handling of conflicting expectations
- Quick comprehension of complex situations and the ability to assume different roles in counselling and care
