Our Hamilton ventilators are used in intensive care units, emergency transport, and MRI environments. They assist medical teams worldwide in caring for adult, paediatric, and neonatal patients.

What you can achieve:
- You take technical responsibility for the development and further development of embedded software in C++ for medical devices
- You actively shape the software architecture and make well-founded technical decisions
- You develop and optimise software solutions with a focus on quality, performance, and maintainability
- You work closely with interdisciplinary teams (e.g. hardware, system engineering, quality, regulatory affairs, and product management)
- You analyse complex error patterns, identify causes, and develop sustainable solutions
- You ensure software quality through code reviews and appropriate testing strategies
- You define and implement modern testing approaches (e.g. automated tests and system tests on simulators and real devices)
- You ensure compliance with regulated development processes (e.g. verification, validation, and traceability) and prepare the necessary documentation
- You contribute your experience to requirements engineering and coordinate closely with stakeholders
- You take on a technical leadership role within the team and actively support the development of your colleagues
- You drive the further development of development processes, tools, and workflows
What you bring:
- Completed studies in computer science, electrical engineering, medical technology, or a comparable field
- Several years of professional experience in software development, ideally in a regulated environment (e.g. medical technology, IEC 62304)
- Proven experience in a technical leadership role with responsibility for development activities and technical decisions
- Solid knowledge of modern C++ (e.g. C++14/17), embedded systems, and software architecture
- Experience with Linux-based systems, build systems (e.g. CMake), and model-based development is an advantage
- Good understanding of software development processes throughout the entire lifecycle, especially verification, validation, and traceability in regulated environments
- Experience in system design, requirements engineering, and collaboration with cross-functional teams
- Strong analytical and conceptual skills as well as a structured approach to complex technical problems
- Experience in code reviews, testing strategies, and ensuring software quality according to defined processes
- Ability to coach and support less experienced developers in technical matters
- Excellent communication skills for technical coordination with various stakeholders
- Language skills: German (at least B2), English
