Senior Engineer Linux Automation & Kubernetes (m/f/d)
Responsibilities:
You design an automated platform environment where Ansible/AWX, playbooks, roles, collections and infrastructure as code are central components. You develop standards and CI/CD pipelines on Forgejo for delivery processes.
You technically and architecturally manage the underlying RHEL/SLES infrastructure and the Kubernetes platform with SUSE Rancher/RKE2. The focus is on high availability, scalability and the secure operation of critical systems.
Security is directly integrated by you into the platform architecture – from OS hardening and vulnerability management to handling certificates, secrets and privileged accounts.
For major changes, you take on the technical leadership for updates, upgrades, migrations and release changes. In critical situations, you support the 3rd-level and the handling of major incidents.
You pass on technical knowledge to engineers as well as application and development teams, assess new technologies, help shape the roadmap and participate in the 7x24 on-call service.
Qualifications:
Several years of experience in Linux, DevOps, platform or Kubernetes engineering and routine in handling business-critical, highly available environments.
Very good expertise in RHEL/SLES and Kubernetes, ideally complemented by solid knowledge of SUSE Rancher/RKE2.
In-depth know-how in Ansible/AWX, infrastructure as code and CI/CD as well as experience in architecture, automation and standardisation.
Good knowledge of Linux/platform security, networking, DNS, load balancing and firewalls and the willingness to independently take responsibility for technical platform decisions.
German written and spoken fluently (C2) and English at least B2; French B1, ITIL as well as suitable Kubernetes, Linux, cloud or open-source certifications are advantageous.
