For our location in Zug, we are looking for an experienced and committed professional to lead the German-language educational programme for our two classes of the 1st kindergarten.
This position offers a qualified teacher or childcare specialist (FaBe) the opportunity to actively shape a high-quality German-language educational offering within our bilingual school. The successful candidate will work closely with our German- and English-speaking team and will also take responsibility for the professional guidance and training of a FaBe apprentice.
Your tasks
- Leadership, coordination and implementation of the German-language educational programme for two classes of the 1st kindergarten
- Planning and delivery of engaging and age-appropriate learning activities in German
- Promotion of early language and literacy development, basic mathematical skills, as well as the creative, social, emotional and personal development of the children
- Ensuring the German-language programme aligns with the school’s bilingual educational concept
- Observation and documentation of the children’s learning and developmental progress
- Using observations for further educational planning and individual support
- Creating a safe, inclusive, respectful and learning-promoting environment
- Encouraging children’s independence, curiosity, creativity and positive social interaction
- Close collaboration with German- and English-speaking colleagues
- Building and maintaining positive and professional relationships with children, parents, guardians and staff
- Regular communication with parents and guardians about their children’s learning and development progress
- Professional coordination and support of staff in the German kindergarten programme
- Professional guidance, training and assessment of FaBe apprentices according to Swiss vocational education regulations
- Active participation in team meetings, further training, school events and excursions
- Compliance with all school policies and legal requirements in the areas of child protection, health, hygiene, occupational safety and data protection
Your profile
- Completed training as a Childcare Specialist EFZ, specialising in children, or a recognised teaching diploma or equivalent qualification in early childhood education
- For FaBe applicants: recognised vocational trainer qualification for the training and supervision of FaBe apprentices
- Experience in supervising, training and assessing FaBe apprentices is an advantage
- Several years of professional experience in early childhood education, kindergarten or a comparable educational environment
- Experience in leading an educational programme, coordinating staff or in a comparable position with professional responsibility
- German at native speaker level and excellent written skills in Standard German
- Good English skills and confidence working in a bilingual environment
- Strong pedagogical, organisational and professional leadership skills
- A warm, reliable and child-centred working style
- Excellent communication and social skills
- High commitment to child protection, inclusion and professional quality standards
- Knowledge of the Swiss education and vocational training system is an advantage
