The Faculty of Medicine (MeF) at the University of Zurich is at the heart of medical innovation in Switzerland. We advance both first-class education and innovative research: from the laboratory to the bedside. The MeF has around 230 professors.

The Dean's Office for Studies is a subdivision of the Faculty of Medicine. It ensures a well-coordinated teaching and examination operation and offers competent advice to students on all matters relating to their studies. With currently about 4000 students, the Faculty of Medicine at the University of Zurich is the largest in Switzerland.

The Competence Centre for Teaching and Services is responsible for the administrative processes of the Dean's Office for Studies and supports a smooth study operation. To strengthen our Study Administration and Advisory team, we are looking for a digitally savvy, service-oriented personality with strong organisational and communication skills. Ideally, you have a university degree in law or a comparable qualification.

The employment relationship is initially limited to one year, with the possibility of subsequent permanent employment.

Specialist in Student Advisory and Study Law

Tasks

  • Processing and assessment of enquiries and requests from students on complex issues in medical studies
  • Individual advice to students and development of practical solutions in special study situations, taking into account the applicable framework regulations and study regulations
  • Independent examination and processing of enquiries with legal and regulatory issues
  • Professional contact person for legal matters and support of the team in the interpretation and application of regulations and guidelines
  • Participation in the revision and drafting of study-related regulations
  • Ensuring efficient and high-quality administration in SAP and FileMaker

Profile

  • University degree at Master’s level, ideally legal training
  • Good knowledge of university structures and processes along the student life cycle
  • Familiarity with administrative processes, ideally in the area of school or university administration
  • Good oral and written communication skills as well as a confident, service-oriented manner
  • Ability to collaborate smoothly with higher authorities as well as with internal and external partners
