About the job
Under the umbrella of the Social Welfare Organisation, the Salvation Army Foundation Switzerland operates the Sonnhalde Children’s Home in Münsingen and fulfils a service agreement with the Cantonal Youth Office of the Canton of Bern. In our children’s home, 24 children from birth to the end of their initial education live across three mixed-gender residential groups. We accompany the children in their daily lives according to a trauma-pedagogical and systemic-solution-oriented approach. In doing so, we support them resource-oriented in their developmental tasks.In our facility, we live a culture of openness, participation, and diversity.
Your tasks
- Contact person for children and young people during the night hours
- Ensuring care, support, and protection
- Accompanying the children upon awakening and ensuring calm and well-being
- Support in emergencies and crisis situations
- Documentation of special incidents and communication to the teams
- Collaboration with the residential group teams and participation in handovers
- Light domestic tasks
- Working hours: 21:45 - 07:45
Your profile
- Experience in caring for children and young people
- Professional basic training in healthcare or social work desired
- You enjoy working with people in challenging situations
- A respectful approach to children and young people as well as respectful collaboration with interdisciplinary teams is natural for you
- You can identify with the mission statement and values of our institution
