We are looking immediately or by arrangement for our central laboratory in Lyss for a committed and analytically skilled personality as
Head of Quality Control (Chemical Analytics and Sensory) m/f/d, 80 - 100%
What you can achieve:
- Management of the chemical-analytical laboratory in two-shift operation (Monday to Friday) for FFA, POZ, SFC, NIR, refractive index, water content, induction time, drop/melting point, iodine/anisidine value, Dobi value, colour measurement, antioxidant detection, fatty acid spectrum, 3-MCPD, glycidol and MOSH/MOAH for animal and vegetable fats and oils, various special products and collagen
- Leadership and promotion of 8 employees as well as occasional active participation in the laboratory
- Responsibility for smooth laboratory operations, maintenance, calibration and servicing of analytical instruments as well as participation in ring tests
- Data maintenance in LIMS, IQSoft and Improve
- Implementation of corrective measures including material blocking/release
- Management of the sensory laboratory
- Ownership and lead in digitalisation and optimisation projects such as connecting analytical devices to LIMS, digital recording and sample management via barcode, evaluation and validation of new analytical methods (quantitative determination of DHA, CDR Foodlab for iodine value and Dobi value, etc.)
- Support for the Heads of Quality Management as well as Quality Assurance & Process
- Engineering in food safety incidents
- Cross-departmental and cross-company professional project collaboration as needed
What you bring:
- Completed vocational training as a chemical laboratory technician, further studies advantageous
- Practical professional experience in a production company (food, pharma, cosmetics) as well as at least three years of leadership experience in a comparable position mandatory
- A confident personality, empathy and enjoyment in working with people
- Willingness to learn and multitasking ability
- High degree of self-organisation and situational flexibility
- Hands-on and service provider mentality
- Good technical understanding
- Very good German and English skills, spoken and written
