We are seeking a highly qualified and experienced individual to join our Group Security Team. As the Head of People Security, you will report to the Group Chief Security Officer, be a member of the Group Safety and Security Council and be responsible for implementing and managing comprehensive security programs to protect Zurich personnel and assets world-wide. This role requires a security professional with 10+ years' experience gained in a global corporate environment and relevant education, e.g. a Certified Protection Professional (CPP) or similar qualification.
What you will do
Implement strategies for assigned security workstreams to safeguard our company's people, assets, and operations in alignment with corporate security objectives and industry best practices. This includes designing security policies and procedures, providing training, monitoring implementation and executing operational security measures where required:
- Executive protection: Develop. oversee and execute executive protection programs, including threat assessments, security details, and travel security protocols. Coordinate with relevant departments to ensure the safety of key executives and Zurich personnel at risk.
- Event Security: Develop, oversee, and execute event security programs, including risk analyses and protection measures.
- Travel Security: Develop, oversee, and execute a travel security program for our company's business travellers, including providing threat analyses, travel advice and responding to travel emergencies.
Integral part of this role will be to:
- Lead a small team, providing guidance, support, and mentorship. Foster a high-performance culture, encourage professional development, and conduct performance evaluations. Build strong cross-functional relationships within the organization.
- Develop and deliver security awareness programs to educate employees on security best practices and ensure a culture of security consciousness.
- Stay up to date with security regulations and standards applicable to the insurance industry. Ensure compliance with legal requirements, industry guidelines, and internal policies.
- Monitor relationships with security service providers, consultants, and technology vendors. Evaluate vendor performance, negotiate contracts, and ensure service level agreements are met.
- Maintain strong relationships with blue light organizations in Switzerland.
What you bring
- Bachelor's degree in a relevant field such as security management, criminal justice, or business administration is preferred.
- Proven experience in security management with a strategic focus, preferably in a global insurance company or related financial institution.
- Strong knowledge of and experience in applying security risk management techniques.
- In-depth understanding of executive protection, event security, travel security, physical security.
- Excellent leadership and people management skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate a team.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact effectively with Senior Management and Executive Committee members.
- Demonstrated problem-solving and decision-making abilities in high-pressure situations.
- Availability to travel as required.
- Fluency in German and English is a must.
- Security certifications, e.g. Certified Protection Professional (CPP) or similar.
