The ZHdK, with around 2100 bachelor’s and master’s students, is one of the largest and most diverse art universities in Europe. The study and research areas include Art Education, Cultural Critique, Design, Film, Fine Arts, Music, Dance, Theatre, and Transdisciplinarity. Located in the heart of Zurich, ZHdK is a dynamic place where passionate people from over 75 countries work, study, teach, research, and continue their education. The university includes numerous exhibition and performance venues where students’ project work is publicly presented. The Media and Information Centre (MIZ), an innovatively oriented service centre, comprises the library and archive of ZHdK. The MIZ not only provides access to knowledge resources but is also responsible for promoting information and media literacy at the university.
We are looking for an
Information Specialist with a Focus on Knowledge Transfer, 60-70%
Your Tasks
Your tasks include coordinating, organising, and further developing the training and information offerings of the MIZ. Through your openness and interest in the development of the information society, you initiate new impulses, examine trends, and evaluate current methods and tools. You support and promote the members of the training team and conduct courses for university members yourself. You act competently in individual consultations to assist students, researchers, and lecturers with their research. Through instructions, blog posts, or events, you draw attention to existing and new MIZ offerings and support the MIZ communication officers. You actively network with teaching staff at the university and specialists in other academic libraries. At the MIZ information desk, you are also a first point of contact for all questions from our library users.
Your Profile
In addition to a completed university-level degree in information sciences or comparable education and training, you ideally have a (specialist) university degree in the artistic or art historical field. This means you are familiar with the requirements of academic work and research in the arts. You possess sound didactic and methodological skills to convey subject-specific and general information offerings and bring lateral leadership experience. As an open and enthusiastic personality, you find it easy to make contacts or speak in front of a group. You know subject-specific analogue and electronic resources and sources and work efficiently with them. You enjoy shaping and conveying digital development. With your excellent German and very good English skills, you contribute to the goal-oriented and attractive communication of the MIZ.
