Senior Engineer Platform Architecture & Automation (m/f/d)
Responsibilities:
Further development of the technical platform roadmap and taking on architectural responsibility for Linux servers on RHEL/SLES as well as Kubernetes environments with SUSE Rancher/RKE2.
Design of secure and highly available platform solutions for critical 7x24 environments including networking, DNS, load balancing, firewalls and central security requirements.
Technical management of the automation and delivery landscape with Ansible, AWX, Infrastructure as Code and Forgejo CI/CD; standardisation of playbooks, roles, collections and DevOps processes.
Execution and technical leadership of complex platform changes as well as handling demanding 3rd-level incidents and major incidents. Additionally, technology evaluation, coaching of technical teams and the 7x24 on-call service are part of the responsibilities.
Qualifications:
Many years or solid several years of experience in professional Linux, Kubernetes, DevOps or platform engineering with responsibility for complex platforms.
Very good expertise in RHEL/SLES and Kubernetes, ideally complemented by practical experience with Rancher/RKE2, as well as in-depth knowledge of Ansible/AWX and Infrastructure as Code.
Experience with CI/CD, automation, standardisation and architecture of highly available infrastructures as well as with updates, upgrades, migrations and release changes.
Solid know-how in Linux/platform security, especially OS hardening, vulnerability management, certificates, secrets and privileged accounts, as well as independent technical decision-making ability.
German written and spoken fluently (C2) and English at least B2; French B1 is an advantage. Knowledge of ITIL and certifications related to Kubernetes, Linux, cloud or open source are desirable.
