Responsibilities of the role
Reporting directly to the General Director, the Director of Sales, Marketing & Communication defines and manages the institution's sales, marketing and communication strategy. The position is based in Montreux or Bern; the post holder leads a team of 16 employees, including three directly reporting managers, spread across French-speaking and German-speaking Switzerland.
The responsibilities are divided into four main areas:
- Development and management of the sales, marketing and communication strategy, based on performance indicators and continuous market monitoring;
- Management of sales channels throughout the territory, development of new business opportunities, and maintenance and expansion of relationships with customers, partners and brokers;
- Management of communication and representation of HOTELA at business events;
- Participation in digital transformation projects and ensuring the quality of the customer experience.
One of the central challenges of this role lies in the development of HOTELA in German-speaking Switzerland. Although the company is already present there, it must significantly strengthen its position in this high-growth potential market. The future post holder will therefore need to develop and implement a genuine growth strategy for this area, building on existing successes in French-speaking Switzerland and Ticino.
Desired profile
You hold a degree in business administration (university, university of applied sciences or equivalent), supplemented by further training in sales, marketing and management, and have solid experience in insurance, social insurance, pension funds, HR services or a comparable complex service environment. Your career demonstrates proven experience in sales management, including team leadership and B2B project management, as well as experience in communication or marketing.
You have a good knowledge of the Swiss market, both French-speaking and German-speaking Switzerland. With a genuine strategic vision focused on development and growth, you view the company’s challenges with foresight. You anticipate market developments while also possessing proven operational implementation skills. You are fluent in Swiss German and can also express yourself well in French; knowledge of Italian is an advantage.
