Payroll Specialist 60 – 80%
The Intercantonal University of Special Education (HfH) is the most important Swiss centre of expertise for special and remedial education with around 2,000 students. Our work combines scientific excellence with social responsibility and is oriented towards the needs of practice, politics and the education system.To strengthen our team, we are looking for a Payroll Specialist from 1 January 2027 or by arrangement. We are seeking a committed individual who enjoys teamwork and will take primary responsibility for payroll.
Your area of responsibility
- Independent and timely processing of monthly payroll and fee payments (payroll software: Abacus)
- Ensuring correct and legally compliant payroll accounting, taking into account relevant labour, social insurance and tax regulations
- Reconciliation of payroll accounting with financial accounting and collaboration on monthly and annual financial statements
- Competent contact person for employees, managers and external bodies on all payroll and social insurance matters
- Preparation of withholding tax, social insurance and annual declarations as well as execution of year-end tasks including ELM transmission
- Participation in payroll and social insurance audits
- Preparation and implementation of the annual salary review
- Creation of evaluations, statistics and payroll-related reports
- Participation in the optimisation and further development of payroll processes and HR projects
- Support of the HR team with administrative tasks; representation within the payroll department is ensured
Your profile
- Completed commercial basic training or equivalent
- Further training in Human Resources with a focus on payroll and social insurance administration is an advantage
- Several years of professional experience in independent payroll processing as well as sound knowledge of the Swiss payroll and social insurance system
- Precise, very independent and reliable working style
- High level of digital skills (Abacus, MS Office especially Excel, SAP is an advantage)
