The Vocational Training Centre BBZ Solothurn-Grenchen is the regional centre of expertise for initial and continuing vocational education and training and comprises five service areas (EBZ Solothurn-Grenchen, GIBS Grenchen, GIBS Solothurn, KBS Solothurn, ZeitZentrum Grenchen). The Commercial-Industrial Vocational School GIBS Solothurn educates around 1,500 learners in initial vocational training. For the Commercial-Industrial Vocational School GIBS Solothurn, we are seeking a Vice-Principal, 80-100%, starting 01.04.2027 or by arrangement.
Your responsibilities
- Within the framework of BBZ Solothurn-Grenchen, you support the principal in the service areas of GIBS Solothurn with professions including automotive technology, mechanical engineering, gastronomy, computer science/media technology, and interior decoration. In particular, you support the educational leadership and ensure personnel management of a department.
- You review and support that the teaching provided and the services delivered meet the current requirements of the education partners.
- Taking on school-wide and cross-departmental tasks of BBZ Solothurn-Grenchen also falls within your scope of work.
- You teach between 6 and 9 lessons.
- As a member of the school management of GIBS Solothurn, you actively collaborate with the school management on overarching topics, tasks, and projects.
Your profile
- You have a professional or university degree or equivalent qualifications; leadership experience is an advantage.
- Several years of teaching experience at the secondary level II, sound knowledge of the Swiss education landscape, and active contacts with the world of work characterise you. Ideally, you have experience in trade and industry.
- Experience as a project manager of various educational projects ideally complements your profile.
- You enjoy working with young people and teaching, lead cooperatively, and are a good motivator.
- Furthermore, you are business-oriented, open to change, innovative, willing to compromise, loyal, and proficient in handling new technologies.
