For a primary school near Basel, we are looking for a committed and experienced individual as Headteacher (80–100%).

For an attractive municipality in the canton of Basel-Landschaft, near Basel.

For a well-established primary school in a dynamic municipality in the canton of Basel-Landschaft, we are seeking a person who knows school from their own experience and is ready to take on leadership responsibility.

As headteacher, you will lead a primary school location pedagogically, personnel-wise, organisationally and administratively. Together with the principal and other school leaders, you will shape the further development of the school and create reliable framework conditions for good, modern teaching and constructive collaboration.

Primary School Headteacher (80–100%)

Your tasks:

You will take overall responsibility for a primary school location. Your central tasks include:

• Pedagogical, personnel, organisational and administrative leadership of the location
• Co-shaping school and teaching development
• Taking on departmental tasks within the school leadership
• Developing and implementing concepts and measures in the areas of quality, health promotion and safety
• Collaboration with internal and external specialist offices and committees
• Accompanying change processes and handling demanding issues in everyday school life.

What you bring, how you convince:

A completed training as a primary teacher is a prerequisite for this role. You know everyday school life from your own professional experience and have a good understanding of the requirements of a primary school.

In addition, you have:

• Interest and willingness to take on leadership responsibility
• Clear and binding communication
• The ability to consider different perspectives and develop viable solutions
• A structured and independent way of working
• Enjoyment of collaboration and joint school development
• The ability to keep an overview and take responsibility even in demanding situations

A completed or ongoing school leadership training is an advantage but not a requirement. We expect the willingness to complete this training.

We explicitly also address primary teachers who have already taken on additional responsibility and wish to take the next step into a leadership role.
