In the heart of the green Rotmonten district, within walking distance of the University of St.Gallen and the city centre, lies the Holzweid Continuing Education Centre – an attractive campus with two seminar buildings and a guesthouse.
The University of St.Gallen uses the modern seminar rooms for continuing education programmes and other events. External companies can also rent the rooms by the day or week.
At the HSG Alumni House, the university-owned guesthouse, 54 stylish rooms are available to course participants, lecturers, HSG members and alumni. The guesthouse offers everything needed to recharge after a long and intense day. The beautiful nature surrounding the centre invites you to engage in sports and relaxation.
Your tasks
Reception
- Shifts at the reception (front office), acceptance and processing of room reservations, guest check-in/out including corresponding pre- and post-stay information processing
- General administrative tasks such as mail processing, cash register closings, sales of services, handling lost property, centre patrols, office supplies management (list not exhaustive)
- Active participation and contribution in team and administration meetings
- HSG Shop (purchasing, sales, accounting)
Banquet / Administration / Seminar Sales
- General administrative tasks such as mail processing, cash register closings, sales of services, handling lost property, centre patrols, office supplies management (list not exhaustive)
- Planning and coordination of events to ensure professional execution
- Relieving the Head of Administration and Reception in all administrative and organisational tasks
- Taking on other tasks as needed, including project work assigned by supervisors and management (organisation of Christmas gifts, customer surprise measures, responsible for photos for print and digital media, not exhaustive)
- Active participation and contribution in team and administration meetings. Training of new administration and reception staff
Vocational Training
- Deputy assistant role as practical trainer for apprentices in hotel/communication specialist EFZ
Your profile
- At least 2 years of professional experience in the hotel sector
- Reception experience (hotel software MEWS, Thynk or other software) desired
- Very good knowledge of MS 365 products
- Willingness to work early and late shifts, weekends and public holidays. Handling emergency calls (outside working hours) among others by VüCH, night porter, etc. High service orientation and customer focus, well-groomed appearance and pleasant manners
