About the job
The position is remunerated at 40-50% on an annual average basis. Due to deadlines and selection procedures in the area of student finance, a significant part of the work focuses on the months from September to early December as well as February to mid-May. During these phases, a higher workload is required; in the other months, correspondingly less work is involved. Working hours are flexibly arranged within the framework of an annual working time model. Therefore, the position is particularly suitable for individuals who appreciate cyclical workloads.

The position is located in the Student Finance Office within the Counselling Centre of the University of St. Gallen (HSG) and is initially limited until 30.05.2030, with the intended prospect of extension.

Your Tasks
The following activities are among your main responsibilities:
- Coordination and administrative handling of the university student finance fund (e.g. management of support requests, organisation of commission meetings, minute-taking)
- Processing enquiries from students and prospective students regarding questions about student finance
- Maintenance and further development of the Student Finance Office’s websites
Your Profile
We are looking for a committed individual with a bachelor’s degree in a commercial field.
- You possess analytical thinking skills and work in a structured, precise and reliable manner. You find it easy to deal with regulations, guidelines and systemic contexts. You think in a networked way and keep an overview even in complex matters.
- At the same time, you have strong social and advisory skills as well as intercultural openness in dealing with a diverse student body. You communicate clearly, appreciatively and solution-oriented.
- As a service-oriented and proactive person, you act independently, tackle tasks proactively and take on responsibility.
- Very good oral and written expression in German and English as well as solid IT skills (common MS Office programmes) complete your profile.
The position is ideal for an all-rounder who, alongside an affinity for numbers, also enjoys and is competent in advising and supporting students.
