About the job
At visoparents, we create spaces where children with and without disabilities can grow, learn, and feel comfortable. To achieve this, we need people who think ahead, take responsibility, and reliably organise everyday life.
Among other offerings, the visoparents foundation runs the special school IFA (Intensive Support - Autism Cycle 1) for children on the autism spectrum. By attending our school, pupils have the chance for further education in an integrated mainstream or special school setting. Currently, we offer 12 school places in this programme.
To complete our team, we are looking for you to start immediately or by arrangement.
Your Responsibilities
- You will take on the therapeutic support of pupils in individual and group therapy sessions focusing on communication initiation
- You will apply for and introduce communication aids
- You will advise staff and parents
- You will work closely with the person responsible for Augmentative and Alternative Communication (AAC)
- You will collaborate with the interdisciplinary professional team
Your Profile
- You have a completed training as a speech therapist recognised by the EDK
- You have professional experience working with children on the autism spectrum
- You are willing to develop in the area of Augmentative and Alternative Communication and with electronic aids and PECS
- You have an efficient working style
- You are flexible
- You are a service-oriented, empathetic, and responsible personality
