About the job
Herzog & de Meuron is an international architectural firm based in Basel, Switzerland. The office was founded in 1978 and is managed by the two founders, together with the partners and the CEO. Today, an international team of over 500 employees is engaged in a variety of projects in Europe, America, and Asia. The headquarters in Basel collaborates with studios in Berlin and Munich, Barcelona, Paris, London, Hong Kong, New York, and San Francisco.
For our Communications Department, we are looking for a Documentation Manager to start immediately or by arrangement.
You support the architects in documenting and archiving their projects. You are responsible for the long-term preservation of documents, objects, and digital content and accompany the entire project process – from design through implementation to the completion of a building.
You coordinate the collection of plans, images, and reports. In collaboration with our project managers and partners, you compile appropriate content for the different project phases and plan the documentation activities according to the respective project status.
You index the selected content and maintain our information platforms. Furthermore, you ensure the quality of the documents to be archived with the help of manuals for which you are responsible.
In addition, you are the contact person for image material for internal and external use.
For this role, you bring a strong interest in and a good understanding of architecture. Training as an art historian or documentation or archive specialist, as well as several years of professional experience, are prerequisites, as is a pronounced interest in digital platforms such as InDesign, Fotoware Alto, and MuseumPlus.
You are team-oriented, strong in communication and organisation, and know how to assert yourself. You have a high degree of independence and work reliably and precisely even under time pressure. Very good language skills in German and English are essential. We assume confident use of common office programmes. Experience with layout, image editing, and CAD programmes is a plus and useful for the role.
