About the job
familea is a socially responsible association with a 125-year tradition in the Basel area. In over 40 day-care centres, we care for around 3,000 children. We operate children’s and youth homes, the foster care centre, and social and legal counselling for women. Our services strengthen families, children, and women. They promote the compatibility of family and work, contribute to equal opportunities and integration. With over 900 employees – including around 200 trainees and students – we are a recognised and significant professional and training institution in the social sector.
The residential care of familea has 56 places for children and young people aged 5 to 18 years or older, who are cared for in seven residential groups of 8 places each. They are accompanied, supported, and challenged throughout 365 days in coeducational groups with different age structures. All children and young people attend public schools or a training institution.For one of our student residential groups in the Lindenberg children’s home, which accommodates psychosocially burdened children and young people between 5 and 16 years, we are looking immediately or by arrangement for aSocial Pedagogue FH/HF 80%
You are…
- …a child and youth coach – you guide our kids through the everyday jungle, help with perspectives, and are the rock in the storm when things get tough.
- …a future coach – you creatively support young people in taking their lives into their own hands.
- …a network professional – you are the important interface in the helper system and hold the threads in your hands.
- …an admin talent – you reliably and expertly handle administrative tasks such as minutes and correspondence.
- …a team player – together with 5-6 great colleagues, you run the show, contribute to working groups, and are also involved in camps and leisure activities.
What you bring:
- You have a diploma as a social pedagogue FH/HF and several years of professional experience under your belt (and for foreign diplomas, the SBFI recognition is required).
- You have a sense of humour – even when things get stressful – and master challenges with a smile and composure.
- You meet children and young people at eye level and find the perfect balance between closeness and distance.
- Irregular shifts and weekends? No problem for you, you are flexible!
- You have completed the practical instruction course or are willing to do so.
