About the job
The Institute of Medical Virology at the University of Zurich is active in teaching, research and diagnostics of viral diseases. As one of the major virological institutes in Switzerland and as National Reference Centres for Retroviruses and Poliomyelitis, we have a broad spectrum of molecular biological and sequence-based methods, serology and cell culture for the identification and characterisation of human pathogenic viruses. The advertised position is located in the diagnostics area (accredited according to ISO 15189:2022).Dipl. Biomedical Analyst HF
Tasks
- Conducting virological diagnostic tests in the fields of molecular diagnostics, serology and virus culture
- Management of clinical samples (sample reception, logistics, preanalytics, etc.)
- Data collection, evaluation and assessment of test results
- Telephone information service for submitters
Profile
- Training as a certified biomedical analyst HF or comparable professional training
- Experience in laboratory work in the diagnostics field
- Basic IT knowledge (Windows, Office programmes, etc.)
- Precise, independent and responsible working style
- A team-oriented, flexible personality with quick comprehension and high commitment
- Good oral and written German skills
- Experience with "in-house" real-time PCR is an advantage
