The Emmental administrative district lies in the heart of the Canton of Bern. The municipalities are diverse, ranging from smaller rural locations to lively tourist resorts. This means you can expect varied tasks in the field of construction.

Your Tasks

• Processing building applications including formal and substantive examination
• Decision on building permit requirements and responsibility
• Drafting procedural orders and overall building decisions
• Planning and preparation of conciliation and instruction negotiations, inspections, and settlement discussions

Your Profile

• Vocational training with a Federal VET Diploma (EFZ)
• Diploma as Bernese Building Administrator or further training as a clerk in building permit procedures or comparable qualification
• Professional experience in a comparable role related to construction
• Reliable, independent, and efficient working style

The Emmental Government Office is a decentralised administrative unit of the Canton of Bern and provides numerous services for the population and the 39 municipalities of the administrative district. It assesses complaints against orders and decisions of municipal authorities, issues permits in the areas of construction and land law as well as hospitality, and is the cantonal supervisory authority over the public-law corporations in the administrative district.
