About the job
We are an owner-managed agency for integrated communication with 75 employees and have been committed for 27 years to advancing our clients' business with creative solutions in both offline and online areas.
To specifically further develop our organisation and our employees, strengthen our unique agency culture, and expand our HR work with a future-oriented approach, we are looking for an empathetic, pragmatic, and strategically minded individual as Head of Human Resources starting January 2027 or by arrangement.
In this key role, you will be responsible for Valencia's HR work both strategically and operationally. You will develop structures and tools further, support managers and employees, and ensure that our HR processes are professional, efficient, and closely aligned with the organisation's needs.
You can expect a varied and demanding range of tasks with plenty of scope for creativity, short decision-making paths, and direct exchange with management. We work in cross-functional teams with flat hierarchies and rely on personal responsibility, collaboration, and a hands-on mentality.
Your Tasks – What You Will Achieve With Us
- HR Strategy and Organisational DevelopmentYou will further develop our HR strategy in coordination with management and align it with the company’s objectives. You will anticipate and manage changes in a forward-looking, solution-oriented manner with a good sense of people and organisation. You will translate the HR strategy into concrete projects and measures and implement them independently.
- Talent and Performance ManagementYou will further develop our talent and performance management and optimise existing tools for assessments, feedback, development, and succession planning as needed. Additionally, you will moderate the monthly People Boards together with team leaders and specialists from our five teams and five departments.
- RecruitingYou will be responsible for the entire recruiting process for various departments such as creation, account management, polygraphy, and development. You will develop our recruiting channels and selection processes, build a relevant talent pool, and strengthen our positioning as an attractive employer.
- Consulting and Leadership SupportYou will advise and support management, team leaders, and specialists on personnel, organisational, and labour law issues. In challenging conversations and conflict situations, you will mediate confidently and tactfully.
- Culture and CollaborationYou will actively contribute to the further development of our agency culture and initiate effective measures for collaboration, team development, well-being, and long-term employee retention. You will capture moods and needs from the organisation and translate them into concrete impulses and measures.
- HR Services, Processes and Employee LifecycleYou will be responsible for a professional employee lifecycle for 75 employees, from onboarding through development and changes to departure. You will continuously develop existing HR processes, tools, and policies and ensure efficient, transparent, and service-oriented implementation. At the same time, you will ensure reliable HR administration and be responsible for preparatory payroll accounting in cooperation with our external partners.
Your Profile – What You Bring
- You have several years of solid professional experience in a comparable HR role within an SME, preferably from the service sector. Experience in a communications agency, a creative company, or a project-oriented environment is a plus.
- Ideally, you have initial professional or personnel leadership experience. More important to us, however, are your ability to take responsibility, provide orientation, and consistently implement topics.
- You hold the Swiss Federal HR Specialist Certificate or a comparable qualification or further education in Human Resources Management.
- You have good knowledge of Swiss labour law and can competently advise managers on labour law and personnel matters.
- You think strategically and act pragmatically and implementation-oriented at the same time. You also tackle operational tasks independently and carefully.
- You communicate appropriately for the audience, clearly and reliably, and move confidently at different hierarchical levels.
- You work in a structured, discreet, and reliable manner and keep an overview even in dynamic or demanding situations.
- You enjoy further developing existing structures, accompanying changes, and winning people over to new solutions.
- You are digitally savvy and use HR systems, data, and modern collaboration tools confidently and sensibly.
