The NZZ is distinguished by its leading international reporting and its large worldwide network of correspondents. To strengthen this, we are looking for you immediately or by arrangement as:

Your tasks

• Writing comments, editorials, analyses, reports, features on North America
• Conducting interviews
• Collaborating on podcasts and visual stories
• Supporting foreign correspondents in the USA: idea generation, topic coordination, editing texts
• Organising and coordinating reporting on North America and setting themes
• Deepening knowledge in the specialised dossier
• Actively contributing to debates on topic finding in the foreign department and the journalistic implementation of our content

Your profile

• Broad journalistic experience with a focus on politics and North America
• In-depth knowledge of political culture in North America
• In-depth knowledge of geopolitical contexts and conflicts
• Confident judgement and strength of opinion
• Excellent English skills
• Fluent German skills (spoken and written)
• Creative, committed and team-oriented personality with high resilience and flexibility
• Flair for analyses, comments, interviews, extensive research and visual storytelling
• Willingness to travel for reports and research
• Basic willingness to move to a correspondent post abroad after a few years
• Interest in and openness to new digital forms of journalism
• Identification with the editorial guidelines of the NZZ
