The University of Lucerne is a modern, personal and dynamic humanities university in the heart of Switzerland and Europe. True to the motto "Moving Human Sciences", we focus on people and their institutions with six faculties and two academies. Our ambition is to develop the University of Lucerne into a pioneering and internationally visible centre of research and teaching in the human sciences.The "Zug Institute for Blockchain Research (ZIBR)" was opened at the beginning of 2026 as a joint initiative of the Canton of Zug and the University of Lucerne. After the development phase, it will unite nine professorships from different faculties of the University of Lucerne. The institute and its research teams deal with the social, political, legal and economic consequences of blockchain technology. This is intended to create a globally unique institute for human-science-oriented blockchain research in its breadth and diversity.

Administrative Assistant (50%)
Area of responsibility
- Coordination and administrative support of the institute management, executive management and professorships in teaching, research and university self-administration in German and English
- Participation in the organisation of courses, examinations, conferences and research projects
- Maintenance and preparation of website, social media channels and newsletter
- Organisation, administration and support of events and workshops
- General administrative tasks
Requirements
- Commercial or equivalent training with professional experience, ideally in an academic environment
- Interest in research topics and motivated to shape this newly created role at the institute
- Strong organisational skills, responsible, flexible, resilient and always keeping an overview
- Excellent knowledge of German and English, spoken and written
- Proficient in the use of modern work and communication tools
- Structured, independent, careful and punctual way of working
- Service mentality and ability to work in a team
- Willingness to adapt to the changing workload in the rhythm of the academic year
