You can contribute in this role

• Epidemiological expertise in the field of infectious diseases: statistically analyse data from various surveillance and reporting systems of the FOPH (R) and interpret it in the sense of the Public Health Action Cycle
• Write epidemiological reports for various communication channels (FOPH website, presentations, conference contributions, media enquiries, etc.)
• Maintain collaboration with partners at national and international level such as national reference laboratories and university institutions and organise events
• Participate in cross-sectional projects and tasks within the FOPH, with other federal offices and cantonal authorities (e.g. workshops with cantonal medical services, national strategies, updating legal bases, reporting guidelines, responding to political enquiries)

What makes you unique

• Academic degree in medicine or natural sciences with further training in epidemiology / biostatistics and/or Master of Public Health
• Good knowledge in the analysis and presentation of epidemiological data using R
• Training or further education or demonstrably continuous professional development in infectious diseases and/or microbiology
• Analytical and conceptual thinking as well as good editorial skills, knowledge of procedures in the federal administration is an advantage
• Good active knowledge of two official languages and English
• Team and communication skills, personal responsibility, goal and result orientation, flexibility in crisis situations, resilience
