Role:

When servers, networks and cloud services have to work together, you feel in your element. You quickly recognise technical connections, solve demanding infrastructure problems and specifically develop existing platforms further. This role offers you the opportunity to dive deep into modern IT architectures and use your engineering know-how to create secure, stable and high-performance system landscapes.

Responsibilities:

• Technical support and continuous optimisation of a demanding server, network and virtualisation landscape

• Further development of hybrid IT architectures with Microsoft Azure and local data centre services

• Administration and performance optimisation of Windows server systems and virtual machines

• Configuration and maintenance of network components, firewalls, VPN connections and security zones

• Planning and implementation of cloud connections, network segmentation and cross-site connectivity

• Ensuring reliable operation through monitoring, capacity planning and proactive maintenance

• Development of automations for administrative processes and standardised infrastructure tasks

• Analysis of error patterns at system, network and application level

• Participation in technical concepts, system migrations and infrastructure renewals

• Implementation of security measures, backup strategies and recovery concepts

Qualifications:

• IT training EFZ with a focus on system technology or an equivalent qualification

• Several years of practical experience in system engineering, network administration or infrastructure engineering

• In-depth knowledge of server operation, virtualisation and hybrid cloud architectures

• Experience with Microsoft Azure, virtual networks and secure connections between cloud and local infrastructure

• Solid network knowledge in TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VLAN, routing and switching

• Practical knowledge in handling firewalls, VPN technologies and network diagnostics

• Knowledge of VMware, Hyper-V or comparable virtualisation platforms

• Experience with Windows Server, directory services and permission models

• Structured error analysis, high personal responsibility and pronounced security awareness

• Interest in modern infrastructure concepts, automation and Infrastructure as Code
