We are partnering with a Switzerland-based biotechnology companyfocused on the development of innovative therapeutic antibody solutions. Operating at the intersection of cutting-edge immunology and translational science, the company brings together international talent and scientific partners to advance novel biotherapeutics through preclinical and clinical development. Backed by committed private investment, the company is entering a pivotal stage of execution and growth.
We are seeking an experienced and strategic Chief Executive Officer (CEO) to lead the company through its next phase of development. The ideal candidate will bring a proven track record of executive leadership within biotechnology or biotherapeutics companies, particularly in early-to-mid stage environments.
The CEO will oversee scientific and operational strategy, drive delivery across a distributed team, and serve as the principal liaison to the company’s lead investor.
This role is based in Lausanne, Switzerland and requires a minimum 4 days/week in the office.
Key Responsibilities:
Strategic Leadership: Define and implement the company’s vision and execution strategy, ensuring scientific, regulatory, and commercial objectives are met.
Scientific & Development Oversight: Provide informed leadership across key areas of the biotech development pipeline, including CMC, regulatory affairs, clinical trial design, and R&D for therapeutic antibodies.
Organizational Management: Lead and motivate a multidisciplinary, international team; foster a high-performance culture and ensure alignment with strategic goals.
Investor & Stakeholder Engagement: Act as the primary liaison with the company’s lead investor, managing expectations, reporting on progress, and translating strategic input into operational outcomes.
Governance & Compliance: Uphold sound governance, risk management, and financial oversight practices in collaboration with advisors and external partners.
External Representation: Represent the company within the Swiss biotech ecosystem and broader scientific and commercial communities; cultivate partnerships and strategic alliances.
Candidate Profile
Required:
Executive or senior leadership roles in biotechnology or biotherapeutics companies, ideally in startup or early-growth phases.
10+ years of experience in biotech sector.
Strong familiarity with the development lifecycle of biologics — from early research through clinical development — with direct exposure to CMC, regulatory processes, and clinical operations.
Scientific background (PhD, MD, MSc or equivalent) in immunology, molecular biology, or a related field. Candidates with Finance background will be considered, given they meet the other experience requirements.
Experience managing complex, cross-functional teams and external stakeholders in an international or hybrid setting.
Demonstrated experience interacting with investors, boards, and strategic partners.
Strong financial acumen, including budget oversight and strategic resource planning.
Preferred Attributes:
Fluency in English and professional-level French (Russian is a plus).
Based in Switzerland or willing to relocate
Skilled communicator and confident public representative of a biotech organization.
Resilient, adaptable, and capable of leading through ambiguity and high-stakes decision-making.
Experience of successfully reaching the commercialisation stage in biotech.
