Development Engineer Simulation
Purpose of the role
Develop next-generation technologies and products for the semiconductor industry by combining mechanical engineering, simulation, and experimental validation. Support technology and product development from early concepts through prototyping and testing, while collaborating with customers and international cross-functional teams.
Responsibilities
- Develop innovative technologies, engineering concepts, and products for semiconductor applications.
- Perform mechanical, structural, thermal, and fluid simulations to support product and technology development.
- Drive early-stage co-development activities with strategic customers.
- Develop and evaluate engineering concepts through calculations, simulations, prototyping, and testing.
- Plan, execute, and analyze experiments to validate concepts and simulation models.
- Collaborate closely with customers, Product Development, Manufacturing, suppliers, and other technical stakeholders.
- Identify emerging technologies and contribute to future technology and product roadmaps.
- Build and maintain networks with research institutes and external development partners.
- Share technical expertise, knowledge, and best practices across the engineering organization.
- Support the transition of promising concepts into robust technical solutions.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related technical discipline.
- Strong interest and experience in developing mechanical and mechatronic products and subsystems.
- Hands-on experience with concept development, prototyping, and experimental validation.
- Proven knowledge of structural mechanics and Finite Element Analysis (FEA), ideally using Ansys Mechanical.
- Good understanding of thermal analysis and heat-transfer phenomena.
- Strong knowledge of mechanical design, dimensioning, and engineering calculations.
- Experience with CAD tools, preferably Siemens NX.
- Semiconductor industry experience is considered an advantage.
- Strong communication skills and confidence working directly with customers and cross-functional stakeholders.
- Hands-on, innovative, and independent working style.
- Comfortable working within international and multidisciplinary engineering teams.
