The culture is toxic in many areas, characterized by inconsistent leadership and a lack of openness to honest feedback. Critical voices are punished rather than valued, while conformist behavior is rewarded. Key issues such as a culture of learning from mistakes and employee development remain largely empty promises. Even the often-mentioned work-life balance is barely recognizable in practice. Despite a very successful year, external staff were almost entirely phased out—the additional work was distributed internally. At the same time, the company has moved away from agile working methods and now relies on traditional models, apparently to better control costs, which further increases the pressure on teams. The return to the office was strictly enforced, which further exacerbates dissatisfaction. Pay raises are effectively not planned, though this is at least communicated openly.

The application process was very structured and pleasant. The HR manager was friendly and in a good mood throughout, which left a very positive impression. My gut feeling tells me that people with a lot of empathy and expertise work there.

This could be improved

The job advertisement on the UBS careers page did not clearly state that it was for the subsidiary UBS Card Center. This would have provided more context for the position and the interview. I would also have liked to have had more time during the on-site interview to get to know the application better.
