You don’t just want to manage releases but actively help shape how modern business applications are operated, changed, and further developed? This position combines Application Operations, Release Engineering, DevOps and IT Service Management and offers scope for professionals who want to take on technical responsibility.
Responsibilities:
Managing the operational application lifecycle for business-critical software solutions
Planning and orchestrating software releases, deployments, and technical changes
Ensuring stable handovers from development to productive operating environments
Coordinating release waves, maintenance windows, and productive rollouts
Assessing technical risks and dependencies within complex application landscapes
Defining and optimising deployment, rollback, and recovery strategies
Further developing automated delivery and operational processes
Close collaboration with software engineering, cloud, infrastructure, cyber security, and business teams
Managing tests, quality gates, and production approvals
Supporting critical go-live scenarios and coordinating hypercare phases
Analysing operational data, error patterns, and performance indicators
Identifying optimisation potentials along the entire application lifecycle
Contributing to technical modernisation and transformation projects
Establishing standards for application operations, release governance, and technical documentation
Qualifications:
Professional experience in application management, release engineering, deployment management, or a comparable function
Solid understanding of enterprise IT and modern software lifecycles
Experience in coordinating complex technical changes
Knowledge of CI/CD, automated deployments, and modern development processes
Understanding of cloud platforms, APIs, integrations, and distributed application architectures
Experience with ITSM and ITIL processes
Strong analytical skills and a solution-oriented mindset
High quality and sense of responsibility
Communication skills and the ability to mediate technical topics between engineering, operations, and business
Enjoyment of automation, standardisation, and continuous improvement
