As a qualified and experienced person in handling complex administrative areas, you take responsibility for reviewing training subsidy applications in German in accordance with legal bases. In standardised processes, you examine applications independently and on a case-by-case basis, calculate entitlement to grants and loans, draft decisions and revise them if necessary. For this purpose, you use both the current grants application and the new replacement solution.
Your tasks
You independently examine and process training subsidy applications and calculate entitlement to training grants or loans according to legal bases. You obtain all necessary documents, explain your calculation method, prepare decisions, verify the training status and collect certificates and other supporting documents. If necessary, you reclaim subsidies already granted. You advise and support applicants by telephone and correspond with them by email and post. You are in contact with institutions, especially social services.
Your profile
For this varied and highly responsible position, we are looking within our team of fifteen people for someone with a commercial vocational training or an equivalent background. Several years of professional experience are required for this position. Digital proficiency is an advantage. Your workplace is located in the centre of Bern.
You work very independently, very precisely and very structurally. You communicate confidently, both orally and in writing. You are proficient in MS Office tools in the context of your professional activity. You are able to quickly familiarise yourself with new IT applications and are open to current and future digital solutions. You enjoy teamwork and demonstrate a strong sense of responsibility and service orientation. A stylistic command of German, both spoken and written, completes your profile.
Initial training for this position is conducted in German. You will process applications in German. If you have the required language skills, you will also have the opportunity to process applications in French.

The Centralised Services Office
As an internal service provider, the Centralised Services Office (OSC) is responsible for payroll and salary payments for teaching staff, granting training subsidies, IT within the Directorate of Public Instruction and Culture (INC), finance and accounting, reception and switchboard, as well as concierge services.
The Training Subsidies Section of the Centralised Services Office is responsible for granting training subsidies in the form of grants and loans to post-compulsory trainees whose legal residence for training subsidy purposes is in the canton of Bern. Approximately 5,000 to 6,000 applications are processed and examined each year.
