About the job
At the youth ward TREMOLA of the University Psychiatric Centre Bern (UPZ), you accompany young people aged between 14 and 17 years in psychologically challenging life situations. In a protected inpatient setting, you work closely with the young people and their environment and actively shape the therapeutic daily routine.
What makes your work special: You take case responsibility for a maximum of two young people and can thus build sustainable relationships and closely accompany developments. You are part of an interprofessional team consisting of nursing, social pedagogy, therapy, and medicine. You can expect a dynamic, motivated team with a wealth of expertise, humour, and room for your perspective – right in the city of Bern.
Your tasks
- You accompany young people aged 14 to 17 years in the inpatient psychiatric daily routine and jointly create a reliable and structured framework with them
- You take on the role of key worker and case management for a maximum of two young people and accompany their individual development and treatment process
- You build relationships, strengthen resources, and support the young people in developing new perspectives and courses of action
- You actively contribute your professional perspective to the interprofessional treatment and work closely with nursing, social pedagogy, therapy, and medicine
- You conduct conversations, organise the daily routine, and support the young people even in challenging and acute situations
- You involve parents, key persons, and other relevant agencies appropriately in the support process
- You document your work professionally and participate in reports, case discussions, and joint treatment planning
- You work early and late shifts as well as approximately once a month at weekends
Your profile
- You have a qualification as a certified social pedagogue, special needs educator, or nursing specialist (HF/FH)
- You enjoy working with young people and ideally have experience in psychiatric or psychosocial settings
- You are interested in various mental health disorders and can act calmly, clearly, and professionally even in challenging situations
- You have experience in key worker or case management or wish to develop further in this area
- You enjoy interprofessional work, actively contribute to the team, and appreciate different professional perspectives
- You are reliable, resilient, reflective, and enjoy supporting young people in their development
- You bring humour, commitment, and a respectful attitude
- You are willing to work irregular hours including early and late shifts as well as about once a month weekend shifts
- You can provide a clean criminal record (private and special private extract)
- You have very good German language skills in spoken and written form; any additional language is a plus
