System and Application Specialist

Your Tasks

Are you a technical all-rounder who enjoys working independently and values direct customer contact? In a small team, you will support our traffic engineering systems – from IT infrastructure through application support to commissioning, maintenance, and repair of hardware on site.

• Analyse and resolve faults – remotely and on site with the customer (City of Zurich)
• Configuration and maintenance of networks, especially switches, routers, and partly firewalls
• User and application support for traffic planning tools and other traffic engineering business applications
• Installation and configuration of Windows, Linux, and virtualised systems
• Support and installation of software releases
• Commissioning and maintenance of simple controls and technical systems
• Integration and configuration of new sensors
• Maintenance of technical documentation
• Participation in on-call duty

Your Skills and Talents

• Training as an IT specialist in system technology or platform development, or technical training (electrical/mechanical) with corresponding IT further education
• Knowledge of Linux, Windows, networks, and virtualised systems
• Willingness to familiarise yourself with existing software and traffic engineering applications
• Independent, practical, and solution-oriented working style as well as enjoyment of customer contact and hands-on work on site
• Good German language skills and a category B driving licence
