Tasks
Review and coordinate funding applications: You review funding applications in the field of Life Sciences research collaborations, coordinate the application review with the research advisory board appointed by the government council, and support other funding areas in the application review process.
Manage contracts and reports: You coordinate contract signings, review usage reports, milestone and final reports, and ensure compliant, timely reporting by the funded research institutions in the research collaboration funding area.
Actively shape processes: You provide impulses for our work: you further develop processes and standards, ensure proper execution according to internal control system (ICS), and have a keen sense for weaknesses – so that science and business can rely on us.
Further develop funding areas: You help shape the content and legal framework of the research collaboration funding area, support the further development of the entire Basel location package, taking into account national and international developments.
Support and advise: You are the direct contact person for universities, research institutions, university hospitals and clinics, as well as companies, advising them on all questions regarding funding criteria and specific funding applications.
Profile
Experience: You are familiar with the life sciences sector from at least 10 years of professional experience or have personally participated in research collaborations in this environment. Experience in managing funding programmes is an advantage.
Personality: You convince through high integrity, confident demeanour, and pronounced analytical and conceptual skills. Service-oriented yet assertive, you maintain an overview even in complex matters.
Education: You have a higher education degree in law, economics, or natural sciences, as well as additional training in project and stakeholder management or a comparable qualification.
Language: Very good German and English skills, both spoken and written, with negotiation-level proficiency including technical terminology – applications in the research collaboration area are consistently submitted in English.
