The ESB Foundation Baselland is a regionally significant social enterprise offering people with support needs attractive training and employment opportunities as well as various forms of housing and services. ESB provides its services at 23 locations, 22 of which are in the canton of Basel-Landschaft, and one in the canton of Basel-Stadt. All activities aim to promote the self-determined life of people with support needs.
For the Vocational Measures area, we are seeking from 1 April 2027 or by arrangement due to the retirement of the current post holder a
Head of Vocational Measures - Member of the Executive Board 80% - 100%
As Head of Department, you are responsible for ensuring and further developing a high-quality vocational integration. This includes training offers, the internal vocational school, the youth residential home, the reintegration of adults, as well as job coaching. You bear the operational overall management of the department, which comprises around 30 employees, and lead the team leaders directly reporting to you. In total, the department supports around 140 people who are preparing for training, are in training, or are preparing for re-entry into the workforce.
What you will achieve with us
- Professional and personnel management of the Vocational Measures area, training, reintegration, job coaching, and youth residential home
- Responsibility for fulfilling the service mandate and agreed objectives as well as quality assurance of the Vocational Measures (reporting etc.) including the youth residential home
- Further development and expansion of the training, job coaching, and housing offerings
- Budget responsibility for the Vocational Measures area
- Interdisciplinary collaboration with authorities, specialist agencies, providers, and clientele
- Development of new products in the Vocational Measures area
- Implementation of agogic and pedagogical work according to the agogic concept as well as the agreed strategies and objectives
- Participation in the strategy process, quality management, and attendance at ESB management meetings
- You represent your area within the executive board

What you bring with you
- Completed studies in the social or health sector
- Industry-related advanced training as well as leadership and management training
- Very good knowledge of Swiss vocational education and social insurance, especially IV, is essential
- Several years of leadership experience in the social and health sector, ideally in the disability sector
- Experience in project and process work is required
- Analytical and conceptual thinking, high social competence, strong communication skills, as well as business management thinking and action
