Customs Operations Manager

Are you interested in world politics and global economic issues, enjoy dealing with cross-border goods traffic topics, and want to apply your expertise in foreign trade within an internationally operating company?

At Würth Logistics, you will strengthen the Customs & Foreign Trade team, currently consisting of 20 specialists at three locations. At our site in Rorschach, you will lead a team of currently three customs specialists. Together, you ensure legally compliant customs processes within the Würth Group, thereby ensuring that goods move smoothly across borders to their destinations.

 

YOUR AREA OF RESPONSIBILITY
  • You lead the Customs team and develop our customs organisation with them to make processes simpler and more efficient.
  • You support and advise the Würth companies on topics related to customs tariff classification, goods origin, and free trade agreements.
  • You analyse existing customs processes at the Würth companies, revise them with regard to efficiency and legal certainty, and accompany the implementation of the new procedures.
  • You monitor compliance with the implemented processes and update them in response to changing regulations and laws.
  • Based on documentation you create, you train the Würth companies on customs topics.
  • You maintain customs and foreign trade-related master data, thus contributing to good data quality within the Würth Group.
  • You are the contact person for the management and specialist departments of Würth Logistics as well as for authorities and external service providers.
YOUR PROFILE
  • You have completed training or studies with a focus on logistics or foreign trade and possess in-depth knowledge of regulations, rules, and laws in international goods traffic.
  • You bring several years of professional experience in foreign trade and have led teams and projects professionally.
  • You think and work process- and solution-oriented and are able to address different tasks, requirements, and stakeholders across departments.
  • Your communication and social skills enable you to work successfully in an intercultural environment and build trust among those involved.
  • You attentively follow the regularly changing rules, regulations, and laws in international trade and continuously further your education.
  • You communicate orally and in writing in fluent German and at a very good level in English.
