University Sports Basel offers a diverse and voluntary sports and exercise programme in over 120 disciplines and its own fitness centre. Annually, more than 8,000 students, staff and other eligible participants use our offerings.
We are looking for a Project Manager for strategic projects, starting immediately or by arrangement, fixed-term for 1 year with option for extension. In this independent staff function, you will work closely with the Head of University Sports and take responsibility for the conception, management and implementation of various projects. Your task is to drive strategic initiatives forward and make their success measurable. The 30% workload can be divided over 2-3 days per week, with Tuesday morning presence mandatory for coordination/meetings.

Your tasks
- Project management: Independent handling of strategic projects from analysis through planning to implementation (e.g. HR and finance projects, development of risk management, elite sport & study programme, etc.)
- Strategic support: Close collaboration with the Head of University Sports in the development and prioritisation of projects.
- Analysis & concept: Preparation of business cases, feasibility studies and decision templates.
- Stakeholder management: Coordination of internal and external contacts and presentation of results at management level.
- Controlling: Monitoring of project budgets, deadlines and goals; regular reporting to the Head of University Sports.
- Support of the Head in planning and organising internal project meetings and independently drafting the minutes.
Your profile
- You have a degree (FH/University) in business administration, economics, business informatics or a comparable qualification.
- You have at least 3-5 years of professional experience in independently handling strategic projects.
- You possess the following skills: analytical thinking, structured working methods, strong communication skills and good presentation technique.
- You enjoy understanding complex organisations. Even in an environment with many autonomous units and different internal and external stakeholders, you keep an overview, act patiently and persistently, and manage to develop viable solutions together with those involved.
- You work in a structured, independent and forward-looking manner, are reliable, flexible, a team player and remain calm even in a sometimes lively operation.
- Very good German skills and the ability to convey complex content clearly and purposefully.
- You feel comfortable in a sporting environment and have an affinity for sport yourself.
