As a municipal children and youth home, we offer up to seven young people from kindergarten to vocational training level a loving temporary home. With us, young people find not only accommodation and round-the-clock care but also a place where they feel safe and can develop. The children and young people all attend public school or their training company and are supported by us on-site. With our educational expertise, we help young people develop their social skills, overcome challenges, and become more independent step by step.

Social Pedagogue for Children and Youth Home

In this exciting role

• you care for, support, and accompany the children and young people outside school and training hours.
• you assist with homework and can apply your school knowledge purposefully.
• you organise a varied leisure programme for the children and young people and motivate them to participate in various activities.
• you actively take part in camps, weekend trips, and special events.
• you contribute to assessments and development planning for the children and young people.
• you accompany one or two children or young people as the case-leading key person.
• you work closely with various stakeholders such as guardians, teachers, and mandate holders.
• you keep reports and records.
• you support the team with household tasks and contribute to a well-kept and homely environment.

You will be successful here

• due to your completed training in social pedagogy HF/FH or an equivalent qualification.
• because you enjoy working with children and young people from kindergarten to training and want to support them on their journey.
• because your empathetic personality creates a safe environment.
• due to your willingness and flexibility for irregular working hours including night and weekend shifts.
• because you enjoy actively participating in camps, weekend trips, or special events.
• if you like shaping team processes and enjoy actively developing the Children and Youth Home Schaffhausen.
