How you can contribute

• Advise the departments and the office management on general data protection issues as well as questions concerning data processing, information systems, IT projects and digital initiatives.
• Accompany IT projects and digital initiatives together with the involved specialist and IT departments to develop data protection-compliant solutions for systems and business processes.
• Conduct legal basis analyses, data protection impact assessments and risk evaluations for data processing, information systems, IT projects and initiatives.
• Analyse data protection legal issues at the interface of law, data, information systems and business processes, and prepare opinions, guidelines and information sheets.
• Support the specialist departments in implementing data protection requirements in systems and processes and raise awareness of data protection regulations and their impact on business processes.

What makes you unique

• Completed university degree in law (Master's)
• Good knowledge of data protection law; additional training in data protection law is an advantage.
• Strong affinity for data and information systems as well as the ability and interest to engage deeply with their functioning, the underlying business processes and the legal and organisational contexts; professional experience in the environment of information systems, IT projects or digital business processes is an advantage.
• Solution-oriented with analytical and digital thinking skills and the ability to communicate complex matters clearly both orally and in writing.
• Good advisory skills, confident appearance as well as a structured and proactive working style.
• Very good knowledge of two of our official languages as well as English, each at least at level B2.

Crime Prevention and Law (KPR) unites competence centres in the areas of Data Compliance, Law, Crime Prevention and the Money Laundering Reporting Office (MROS).

The "Data Compliance" department at fedpol ensures secure, legally compliant and responsible handling of data throughout the entire data lifecycle. It is responsible for the office-wide Data Compliance Management System (DCMS) and the associated governance, audit and control structures.

The Data Protection area advises fedpol on data protection law issues and particularly accompanies projects and information systems in the police context.
