Hägglingen is located in the sunny north of the Freiamt region and has over 2,700 inhabitants. We are looking for from 1 November 2026 or by arrangement a

 

Employee in Public Works (80% - 100%) with deputy function to the Head of Public Works

 

Your duties include:

  • Professional responsibility for green space maintenance
  • Maintenance and care work on rural and municipal roads, drains, streams, etc.
  • Cleaning and monitoring work on wastewater disposal facilities
  • Maintenance of cemeteries, performing earth and urn burials, burial assistant
  • Winter service activities on roads, paths and squares
  • Waste management, littering
  • Maintenance of machines and equipment
  • Occupational safety and health protection (function as safety officer)
  • Other areas of responsibility by agreement

 

You bring with you:

  • Craft apprenticeship (horticulture, agriculture, construction, facility maintenance specialising in public works or similar)
  • Craft and technical skills (all-rounder)
  • Team and communication skills, flexibility, physical resilience
  • Independent and reliable working style
  • Willingness to be on call, e.g. for winter service, burials
  • Enjoy working outdoors
  • Driving licence category B mandatory, category B/E and forklift licence advantageous, otherwise willingness to obtain these
  • German spoken and written, MS Office user knowledge
  • Residence in the local area
