- Support the full-time lecturers in teaching, research and administrative matters

- Completed university degree (Master's) in Military History, History or a related subject
- Enthusiasm for scientific work, familiarity with humanities and/or social science methods
- Ideas for your own doctoral project
- Preferably military service experience
- Research, presentation and communication skills also in a second official language

The Training Command (Kdo Ausb) is responsible for training within the Swiss Army – from recruitment through basic training to officer training for the militia and professional military. The Kdo Ausb includes the Higher Officer Training, Army Personnel, five teaching units, the training centre as well as the Women in the Army and Diversity specialist unit. One third of the approximately 2,350 employees work in civilian professions in scientific, technical, medical, psychological, administrative or sporting fields and contribute together with the professional military to success.
The Swiss Army employs over 9,000 staff in four military and around 200 civilian professions – at 110 locations throughout Switzerland. The next generation is also taken care of: the Swiss Army trains apprentices in over 30 professions.
