You can contribute to this role

• Technically and organisationally manage the national measurement network for groundwater quality monitoring (NAQUA)
• Design and coordinate the chemical analysis programme for groundwater quality monitoring together with the cantonal specialist offices
• Contribute to the conceptual and operational development of national groundwater monitoring
• Support projects from research institutions, private laboratories or engineering firms
• Follow scientific developments regarding groundwater quality; participate in working groups and represent the FOEN in committees
• Write specialist publications and reports as well as respond to questions from the media and politics on the topic of groundwater quality monitoring

What makes you unique

• University degree in engineering or natural sciences, ideally complemented by a doctoral thesis
• Experience in environmental chemistry and groundwater quality
• Strong analytical skills, negotiation skills and the ability to communicate effectively with various interlocutors (federal and cantonal authorities, experts, etc.)
• Experience in project management and in supporting working groups and expert committees
• Innovative and independent personality who enjoys working with many different contacts and embraces challenges
• Good active knowledge of at least one second official language and, if possible, knowledge of a third official language
