Responsibilities

• Identification of strategic and operational cost reduction potentials and implementation with the respective specialist buyers
• Development and further advancement of supplier management (assessment, maintenance, development, approval)
• Conducting price negotiations and concluding suitable contracts for short-, medium- and long-term procurement of raw materials and packaging and ensuring availability
• (Technological) optimisation of purchasing structures with regard to cost efficiency, possibly using digital media and AI
• Coordination of cross-plant purchasing projects
• Preparation and control of budgets across all plants and cost centres
• Ensuring and optimising suitable processes with regard to risk management in procurement
• Responsible for all internal and external (including international) audits in the area of raw material and packaging purchasing in cooperation with quality assurance
• Analysis and monitoring of purchasing markets, competitors and market fluctuations and derivation of short-, medium- and long-term forecasts
• Continuous support and optimisation of the company’s sustainability efforts
• Positive shaping of a culture for food safety and quality
• Further development of the purchasing team at the plant locations and the headquarters in Bendern

Profile

• Completed studies, e.g. in business administration, industrial engineering, food technology, supply chain management or a corresponding further education (HF, NDS etc.)
• Several years of successful professional experience in purchasing in the food industry
• Sound knowledge in strategic and operational purchasing
• Experience in supplier management and negotiation
• Knowledge of the food industry including:
  • Raw material and packaging markets
  • Quality standards (e.g. IFS, BRC)
  • Food safety
  • Sustainability and compliance requirements
• Convincing leadership personality with the ability to develop employees and bring different areas together
• High implementation orientation, initiative and a good sense for developments and interrelations in procurement markets
• Proficient handling of ERP systems (ideally SAP) and purchasing key figures (KPIs)
• Fluent German and English skills, additional languages are an advantage
